Small Town Records Meet Shadows Chasing Ghost, a metalcore/screamo band from the UK. After their successful EP "Never get a wolfs "The Golden Ratio" is from the first looks a very powerful album, but once the sound comes out of the speakers thegoose bumps immediately are kicking in, it is awesome to hear such a sound from the beginning. Nevertheless thisisn't anything new but they do it so very well and technical with clean voices in it. "Girl in Sheep's Clothing" or "You Ain't Got the Minerals" are songs where the vibe is almost immediately perfect. The best songs on "The Golden Ratio" to sing along, ideal for live performances, are definitely S.O.S and Home. These songs have a combination of good technical riffs with kicking drums where your heart will for sure go fastand won't stop again until these songs are over. The guys of Shadows Chasing Ghosts have created not only a powerful, very strong album it's also one whereeveryone can listen to. It reminds of Thrice and other sort like bands but in the couple of years this genre becamepopular, Shadows Chasing Ghost is sailing on another sea and wind with big opportunities. With "Timelines" they are showing that they are not afraid of a really catchy and acoustic song. It's a song toremember and it's setting in the end of a great album. Not really the end though, you got a couple of songs left like"The Recovery" and "Thumbelina's Story", In these songs there is more aggression but still you can feel and hearthe same feeling as at the start. To conclude "The Golden Ratio": it's a marvelous album from beginning to the end where the difference in songs somehow fit together in the total package, each track tells it own story and you will for sure get goose bumps. The guys of Shadows Chasing Ghost are putting their tour feelings in the albums and not the albums in the tour,Awesome! "The Golden Ratio" track listing: 1. Girl in sheep's clothing |
